Carson Valley Autumn

©Ali Moffitt
Carson Valley is absolutely beautiful, and Autumn is no exception.  With the crisp, fresh air and majestic blue skies, Carson Valley is a wonderful place to spend your fall harvest.  The temperatures can range from the low 80's- mid 60's and it is perfect for hitting the trails on your foot, hoof, or wheel.  If the trails aren't for you, then come and join the community in a host of family friendly fall festivities where your little pumpkin will be sure to find their pumpkin!
The Corley Ranch Harvest Festival begins the end of September through October.  You and your family can enjoy activities anywhere from pig races, farm animals, to hay wagon rides, oh and a pumpkin or two!  Main Street Gardnerville hosts their Fall Harvest and Scarecrow Festival and Main Street Minden will be having a Fall Fling.  Or join the fun for the 1st Annual Slaughterhouse Coffin Races and race down Slaughterhouse Lane and reach the finish line in "style."  Genoa will be host to a cemetery walk at night with a bit of history...don't forget your flashlight!
Maybe you just want to take a scenic drive and view all the changing leaves from green to red, orange, brown and red.  Make sure you have your camera ready, they are gorgeous a midst the backdrop of Job's Peak.  Not matter what you choose, Carson Valley offers an abundance of scenery and activities that will make you want to stay and play!
