Photo Contest Winners Anounced!

In a blind judging conducted by the members of the Organizing Committee of the 8th Annual Eagles & Agriculture event, the photos of Mariusz Blach of Reno and Steve Brown of Incline were selected as the winners in the “Best Birding” And “Best Wildlife/Agriculture” categories.  Over twenty seven photographs were entered in this year’s contest and the level of photography was outstanding.

Blach’s “Two Eagles on A Branch” captures two mature bald eagles perched in nearly mirror image of each other and Brown’s “Eagle in Front of Cows” did the best job of depicting the interplay between wildlife and cattle. Each of the winners will receive a cash award of $125 from the Eagles & Agriculture organization. Anyone is also welcome to view all of the photos entered as well as the winners at www.flickr.com/photos/carsonvalleynevada under the set “Eagles & Ag 2010 Photo Contest.”

One of the West’s most unique events, the Eagles and Agriculture gathering in Northern Nevada’s Carson Valley takes place in February each year. The three day event combines the year’s best opportunity to view and photograph bald eagles and other birds of prey, observing live falconing field demonstrations, a two-day wildlife photography workshop, as well as a rare chance to access some of Carson Valley’s working ranches and historic barns. There’s even an opportunity to paddle the Carson River for an even more unusual viewing and photography experience.

Dates are set for the 2011 Eagles & AG in Carson Valley, NV. The 2011 event will be held Friday, February 25th through Sunday February 27th. Registration and schedule information will be available this Summer. Check www.visitcarsonvalley.org for information on this and other Carson Valley events.
