Things Around Town - August 20 - 22

Kick the weekend off in the Carson Valley with the Main Street Classic Car Event located in Downtown Minden beginning Friday evening and all day on Saturday. If you missed Hot August Nights, this weekend is your chance to see beautiful classic cars without the crowds. Friday Night is also Movies in the Park Night at Heritage Park off of Gilman Road in Gardnerville, bring a picnic and the family for a starfilled evening under a cloudless Nevada Sky. Hot August Nights visits Minden Park

On the beautiful sun filled day of August 5th, 2010 Minden Park was the Official Lunch Stop for the Hot August Nights Poker Run. With over 900 registered vintage cars scheduled to visit the Carson Valley this provided visitors and residents the chance to see the vintage cars of Hot August Nights without the crowds. It was a step back in time as the vintage cars lined the streets around Minden Park and along Esmeralda Avenue. With 50's, 60's and 70's music provided by McClain's Mobile Music and DJ Service and variety of food provided by our local restaurants and service clubs the day was complete for both visitors and participants of Hot August Nights.
